Digital Smile Design and Prosthesis
A key advantage of digital dentistry is its ability to design beautiful smiles. During the planning session, both the patient and doctor can visualize the expected results of the treatment. This technology helps ensure the patient’s expectations are clearly understood and met.

CAD/CAM stands for Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing. CEREC is a 3D dental device that combines these technologies to design and produce dental restorations digitally. Its 3D capability allows detailed mapping of both the inner and outer surfaces of the tooth area.
First, the teeth needing treatment are scanned in 3D and the images are transferred to a computer. A precise digital design is created for the tooth, allowing virtual modifications like shaping or contouring. Once the design is finalized, a block of material matching the size and color is selected. This block is then milled by a micro-lathe to form the designed tooth. Finally, the tooth restoration is polished, colored, and glazed using high-tech ovens. Thanks to CAD/CAM, the entire process—from scanning to final restoration—can be completed in a single session.
