Occlusal Splint
Occlusal splints are acrylic apparatuses specially produced to reduce pain and muscle spasms caused by dysfunctions caused by incompatibility of the jaw joint with the teeth. It can be applied to the lower or upper jaw. Depending on the problem in the patient, it may only need to be used at night when lying down or for 24 hours.

Sometimes the closing of the teeth causes the jaw joint to move away from its normal place. In this case, conditions such as abrasion in the teeth, voice and pain in the jaw bones, growth and pain in the chewing muscles, headache, neck pain, teeth clenching and grinding, jaw locking may occur. In such cases, an occlusal splint is applied.
The occlusal splint eliminates the tight contact between the teeth, allowing the lower jaw to move comfortably and freely. As a result of the correct position of the jaw joint, pain and discomfort of the muscles and joints are eliminated.
