Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Wisdom teeth are the third molars located at the very back of the jaw. They are the last permanent teeth to emerge, usually between ages 17 and 25, though some people may never develop them. When properly aligned, wisdom teeth cause no issues. However, they often grow misaligned, which can lead to pain and infection. In such cases, extraction is recommended.

Wisdom teeth are harder to clean due to their position at the back, making them prone to decay and requiring extraction. If there isn’t enough space for full eruption, they can cause infections and must be removed. Jaw narrowing can cause wisdom teeth to push front teeth, leading to crowding.
It is best to remove wisdom teeth early, while roots are still developing and bone is soft, making extraction easier and recovery faster. Removal becomes more difficult and healing slower at older ages.
For normally erupted wisdom teeth, care is similar to standard tooth extraction. Impacted wisdom tooth removal is a surgical procedure that requires longer healing time.
