What is Removable Prosthesis?
A removable prosthesis is a dental appliance that the patient can take out and is used when there is significant tooth loss. It is classified into two types: full dentures and partial dentures. Full dentures are supported by the palate and are used when all the teeth are missing. Partial dentures rely on the remaining teeth and soft tissues to fill gaps where some teeth are missing.

What should patients using removable prostheses pay attention to?
Patients should remove their dentures while lying down at night to allow the oral tissues to rest. After every meal, dentures must be thoroughly cleaned to avoid food residue buildup. Special cleaning tablets and solutions designed for dentures should be used for proper hygiene. If natural teeth remain alongside the prosthesis, these should be brushed regularly and carefully. For partial dentures, the clasps attached to natural teeth require meticulous cleaning to prevent plaque buildup and maintain oral health.
