Reinforcement Orthodontic Treatment

Reinforcement orthodontic treatment is the treatment applied to prevent the teeth from returning to their former positions when the orthodontic treatment is finished and the braces are removed. No force is exerted on the teeth, they are only intended to maintain their current position. During the treatment, reinforcement appliances are used and the duration of their use is determined by the orthodontist. Reinforcement treatment generally continues for 12-24 months, in some cases it may need to be applied for life.
