    Manual toothbrushes should be of medium size, medium hardness and have a dense number of bristles. Those with gum disease can use soft-bristled toothbrushes. Electric toothbrushes can be preferred by people who have difficulty using regular brushes. Teeth should be brushed 2 times a day, toothbrushes should be changed every 3-4 months.

    Toothpastes are used to increase and facilitate the effectiveness of brushing. The content of toothpastes varies according to the intended use. Toothpastes used for whitening can cause abrasion on teeth in the long term due to the abrasives in them. When fluoride is taken in excess, it can accumulate in the body and cause a toxic effect. Therefore, it should not be preferred in children younger than 3 years of age.
