What is Removable Prosthesis?
Removable prosthesis is the prosthesis that the patient can remove and is applied in cases where the tooth deficiency is excessive. It is divided into two as total prosthesis and partial prosthesis. Total prosthesis is the prosthesis applied with the support of the palate when all the teeth in the mouth are lost. Partial prostheses, on the other hand, are prostheses made by taking support from soft tissues and remaining teeth in the missing areas when there are few teeth left in the mouth.

What should patients who use removable prosthesis pay attention to?
Dentures should be removed while lying down at night to rest the oral tissues. After meals, prostheses must be cleaned and the accumulation of food residues must be prevented. Special tablets and solutions should be used during prosthesis cleaning. If there are teeth in the mouth other than dentures, care should be taken to clean them and brush regularly. In partial prostheses, the braces attached to the fixed teeth should be cleaned well.
